Red Sullivan
George James "Red" Sullivan (December 24, 1929 – January 19, 2019) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1949 to 1961. After finishing his playing career Sullivan became a coach, serving in that role between 1962 and 1975. Playing career George "Red" Sullivan began his NHL career with the Boston Bruins (1949–1953). He also played for the Chicago Black Hawks (1954–1956) and the New York Rangers (1956–1961). Sullivan led the Chicago Black Hawks in scoring for his two years in Chicago before being traded to the New York Rangers prior to the start of the 1956-57 season. Sullivan played in the NHL All-Star game five times (1955, 1956, 1958, 1959, 1960) and was named the New York Rangers captain for the 1957-58 season. He remained the Rangers captain through the 1960-61 season, his last as an NHL player. George Sullivan (New Hampshire Politician)
George Sullivan (August 29, 1771 – April 14, 1838) was an American politician who served as a U.S. Representative from New Hampshire, as well as a State Representative, Senator and Attorney General of New Hampshire. Born in Durham, New Hampshire, Sullivan attended Phillips Exeter Academy and was graduated from Harvard University in 1790. He studied law, was admitted to the bar, and commenced practice in Exeter, New Hampshire, in 1793. He served as member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 1805 and as Attorney General of New Hampshire in 1805 and 1806. Sullivan was elected as a Federalist to the Twelfth Congress (March 4, 1811 – March 3, 1813). He was again a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 1813. He served in the New Hampshire Senate in 1814 and 1815 and was again Attorney General of New Hampshire, 1816–1835. George Alexander Sullivan (1890–1942) was the founder of the Rosicrucian Order Crotona Fellowship. Born in 1890 in Liverpool, Sullivan is believed to have organized a group named the Order of Twelve from 1911–1914 and again from 1920. In about 1924 it became known as the Rosicrucian Order Crotona Fellowship (Crotona was the site of Pythagoras's school in southern Italy). As a journalist, playwright and actor George Alexander Sullivan used the name Alex Mathews; in the context of his mystical activities he used the name Frater Aureolis. From 1925–1928 he put out a periodical, ''The Rosicrucian Gazette''. The ROCF operated first from Liverpool area of England and then from the mid-1930s onwards from the Christchurch area. The Sullivan brothers were five brothers from Waterloo, Iowa who served together on the light cruiser .
